I have a black and white neighbor, who settles near my office window, just to be seen, not to be heard. He is a black and white cat, a black and white feline, that likes to sit on the earth. Black are his back, his ears, his tail; white are his little paws with pink pads, his belly, his neck. He likes to rest there, to chase butterflies and birds there, to climb and scratch the sturdy slanted branches of the weather weary brushery there. Today he has brought a white and black friend, a few steps from my window for a while to stay. He's mostly white, with black ears, black nose, black tail, maybe with black spots on his back and his legs. He
